The NACIDD will conduct a public (virtual) meeting on April 1, 2022. The public meeting will include NACIDD members introducing themselves to the public and a presentation and discussion of challenges, opportunities, and priorities for national public health and medical preparedness, response and recovery, specific to the needs of older adults in disasters. A more detailed agenda and meeting registration link will be available on the NACIDDmeeting website: National Advisory Committee on Individuals with Disabilities and Disasters (hhs.gov). Additionally, public attendees have several options to participate in the discussion:
• Submit questions or comments to NACIDD ahead of the meeting by sending an email to NACIDD@hhs.gov, which committee members will consider during the meeting as time allows. Subject matter experts are also encouraged to comment on any item on the agenda.
• Representatives from relevant industries, academia, health professions, health care consumer organizations, advocacy organizations, or state, Tribal, territorial, or local government may request up to 4 minutes to address the committee in person via Zoom. Requests to speak directly to the committee members during the public meeting must be sent to NACIDD@hhs.gov by close of business on Thursday, March 31, 2022. Please provide the full name, credentials, and relevant affiliations for the speaker and a short description of the intended topic. Speakers may send slides ahead of time, but those slides will not be broadcast to the public; each speaker will have audio only. ASPR staff members will contact each speaker with additional instructions. If time allows, we will plan for several minutes of discussions after each presentation. Presentations that contain material with a commercial bias, advertising, marketing, or solicitations will not be permitted or distributed to the committee members. Public comments and related discussion will be summarized in the final meeting report.
